• Anyone think there will be a third attempt on Trump?

I do think there will be another one. I hope I'm wrong.

I'm a Trump supporter, but if someone was trying to take out Kamala, I would still decry attempts on her life. There is no place for this, but here we are.

The Democrats have been stoking up their base along with MSM and this is what happens.

CNN and leftwing media are saying it was another attempt, Fox news has been really careful not to say that until all the facts are in.

i expect more attacks, i expect more riots. people have been brainwashed into derangement.

my old girlfriend that i was with was a liberal and she would talk about trump every day. she knew almost nothing about how the govt works or any issues. she knew nothing about who she voted for other than their party affiliation. she was shocked when there were riots but i tried to tell her that's who you alligned yourself with.

Now she is one of those liberals that wont accept that biden was horrible and shouldn't have been president, but still is about trump 24/7.
those people say they want anybody but trump.

I'm a Trump supporter, but if someone was trying to take out Kamala, I would >still decry attempts on her life. There is no place for this, but here we are.

Indeed. I don't think that people realize the chaos that could unfold if someone is successful at killing Trump, or Harris, or even Biden. It is
not good for the country, and I believe it is bad karma to wish someone
dead... and I usually don't believe in bad karma.

The Democrats have been stoking up their base along with MSM and this is what >happens.

There is that, yes. However, it has also been said by people who work(ed) closely with Trump that he "likes the crazies" among his supporters and
that is why he sometimes says and does things to appeal to them.

There are two problems here that I can think of:

    (1) if you are trying to appeal to crazies that "like you," you will also likely have an opposite but at least equal affect on crazies that don't
    like you.

    (2) crazies are not stable, and one that likes you today may decide to very much not like you in the future.

That second one may be in play here. The local morning news reported that
the most-recent shooter claims to be a former Trump supporter who later
changed his mind and started donating to organizations that work to get Democrats voted in.

The Pennsylvania shooter was a registered Republican who had also started donating to "vote Democrat" causes.

His general attitude sometimes rubs people the wrong way, I think. In particular, there was a time when he mocked a disabled reporter:

    That tells me:

One of my friends has a couple of disabilities, and he was turned off to Trump as well. It's also made it hard for me to want to support Trump.

It comes down to what he says and what he does, often these are two very different things.

He claims to be "doing this for [us]" but thing things he's done serve mostly to help him and his friends.

The felony convictions, the civil lawsuits that he's lost, and the multiple indictments don't help.

Not to mention the things he's been caught saying when he doesn't realize he's being recorded are VASTLY different from what he says to people on the campaign trail.

Oh, and half of his first-term Cabinet has said they won't vote for him, along with a huge portion of his admnistration's aides.

I guess it depends on how you take it. At the time, I took it as Trump
being hard on that particular person and not as a blanket implication of disabled persons as a whole. However, I can easily see where others would
take it that way, and I didn't think it was appropriate.

When people say he "doesn't act 'Presidential,'" while they usually cannot define what that really means I can agree that is one time where he
definately didn't act so. Some of his attacks on John McCain were also
good examples of inappropriate, "un-Presidential" responses.

    trail.

There are some things he says when he knows cameras are on that he
shouldn't. During the harrassment trial, and about the defendent, is one instance that springs to mind. Instead of keeping his mouth shut, he just
kept giving them more reasons to come after him again if they want.

Oh, and half of his first-term Cabinet has said they won't vote for him, along
with a huge portion of his admnistration's aides.

Kamala's office saw a large amount of turnover during her time as VP, so I would wonder what those former aides think of possibly voting for her.
Most reports are that she was not good to work for and, like Trump, had a tendency to blame her issues on others (although she is apparently smart
enough to only do so behind closed doors).

All politicians lie. I've never seen any politicians lie as much as Trump, especially about stupid, incredibly trivial things.

I think it is the "stupid, incredibly trivial things" that just make his

I can't say I remember if I've ever called someone that, but generally I avoid using that word. And even so, and even if peoples' skin is thinner these days, I don't think that justifies mocking a disabled person, or makes it appropriate in any way. short bus riding window licker, or slow, etc. Back in the 80s-90s
you heard that crap every day, as it was very common.

I think it has to do with people's skin getting much thinner over
    the
years. People's feelings get hurt entirely too easily nowadays.

I can't say I remember if I've ever called someone that, but generally I avoid using that word. And even so, and even if peoples' skin is thinner these days, I don't think that justifies mocking a disabled person, or makes it appropriate in any way. IMO it's a piece of shit thing to do, and doesn't make me feel good about voting for him.

I guess no ones perfect, you should hear the stories Kamala staffers tell about how she treats them.
Also Hillary has done far worse.

I guess it depends on how you take it. At the time, I took it as Trump being hard on that particular person and not as a blanket implication of disabled persons as a whole. However, I can easily see where others woul
take it that way, and I didn't think it was appropriate.

While it is (much moreso now), and definitely was inappropriate.. I'd like to know how many people arguing about this as a reason not to vote for him, have ever called a friend of theirs a retard, or a short bus riding window licker, or slow, etc. Back in the 80s-90s you heard that crap every day, as it was ver

Yes, it was indeed. I suspect that any folks my age acting appalled about
it now used to say it a lot then.

I think it has to do with people's skin getting much thinner over the years. People's feelings get hurt entirely too easily nowadays.

Indeed. Part of it is probably the way they are raised, but I also think
part of it is how much exposure (and at how young) people have to social
media these days. That opens a whole new door to not only information but
also to a place to have more hurt feelings.

When people say he "doesn't act 'Presidential,'" while they usually canno
define what that really means I can agree that is one time where he definately didn't act so. Some of his attacks on John McCain were also good examples of inappropriate, "un-Presidential" responses.

He wasn't ever, nor wanted to be groomed to be president. He has always been a
business owner and basically ran the country the same way - which was /very/ successful, if I might add. It was definitely a nice break from the previous what, 20 years of Democrat presidents?

I don't think people realize how some politicians are groomed for that. I remember reading years ago that the Kennedys were grooming their eldest for
an eventual Presidential run. He died, so they turned their focus on John.
He had already spent some time not being groomed which made things a little more difficult.

One of my friends has a couple of disabilities, and he was turned off to Trump as well. It's also made it hard for me to want to support Trump.

I have an autistic grandson who lives here with me and my wife. He is thirteen and a real PITA. However, it isn't hard for me to support Trump.

My wife loves Trump... I don't really like him as a person, but then I don't vote for the person. I vote for the platform.

I prefer the conservative platform to the liberal platform. And I think that Kamala is a complete moron...

I also have an autistic man, my son, living with me. I know the word "retarded" gets a terrible wrap, but it seems to be a clinical word for the problem with my son. He is a bit slow and that is what retarded means (like retarding the timing on your older car). I don't fault mature people for using what was a common decent term in the past. It was not derogatory. I remember that the ARC organization's name was an acronym for "Association of Retarded Citizens". No stigma until jerks started saying "retard" or just "'tard" to people who, like my son, doesn't have capacity to understand that he is different from others.

I suppose people will have a sorts of reasons to vote for particular people, but I think "using the right words" is a pretty shallow criteria for a person tasked with lots of authority and power. "Pretty" or flattering speech is usually a sign that someone is trying to manipulate you, as Harris is trying to flatter votes away from a proven business leader and a former government executive who runs on his record. Kamala whispers "sweet nothings" in so many ears and people seem to like that, as if they were working with a whore as opposed to a potential president. I am not looking for a good lay, I am looking for a president.

For all his trash talking, Trump is a man who is offering to sacrifice (again) a successful career to take on a political war to solve systemic problems that the crony government (swamp) profitably ignores. He points out that Kamala and Biden could have worked to tackle problems for four years that she now says "this is what I will do".

Those are lines every "leader" for decades has spewed to pander for votes and on which few have ever delivered - they get their office, enrich their friends, punish their enemies, and ignore the people who voted for them. Kamala is playing the same old game of saying what more voters want to hear (using "acceptable" words) and her record is to do nothing other than support her friends and benefactors and hide Biden. Harris is just another "good ol' politician" that just happens to be a multy-culty woman (another way to get a few more votes from low-infomation voters).

It is depressing to see the criteria people use to choose their leaders.

I have said for years and years that the Democrats keep certain issues in
their back pockets... the poor, abortion, etc... and intentionally don't do anything to really fix them so that they can pull them out every four years
and claim "now is the time."

Then, once elected, they will blame "Congress" or someone else for these
things not getting done... that is if they don't totally ignore them.

They don't want to fix the problems because then they have nothing to run
    on.
