    Hello,
I'm trying to set up Wildcat 5 16 node version on Windows XP.
I'm assuming that it should be the same as running on Windows 2000. I've
had the BBS running well under Windows 95, but I bought a new system and
was running on Win98, I have had alot of problems with my local network
under Win98, So I bought XP and installed it. Now my network is
running GREAT- all systems are communicating, My question is... Would
the setup for XP be the same as Windows 2000? Do I need to setup virtual
ports under XP to run DOS doors like Windows 2000? or like Windows 98?
Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

I believe XP tells older install programs, like InstallShield, which
we use for Wildcat that it is an NT system. Microsoft learned form Windows 2000 to tell programs it is really an beefed up NT system. Same with XP.

Since it is not going to say it is a Windows 95, the virtual ports
    will not install.

    Hello Hector,
Well, Thanks for your input on this. I got everything up and
running except for the 16 bit doors. I know I'll be able to figure it
out. I've been running wc5 since it's first release. The system is
running great and I'm really happy about how it runs under XP! Have a
    Good Day!

XP Pro does not need the virtual ports setup...
