    [3784] 24557: bad port number ! 13:08 [3784] error in configuration, aborting

I don't understand, as IREX uses port 24557 fine. What am I missing
here. Please don't say use port 24554, as I'm using that for the other fido address I have with Radius.

Thanks to everyone that replied. Got that issue fixed with the help of Nick. It was a bug in BinkD. After Nick pointed me in the right direction, we are good to go, at least for that. Now I seem to be getting a connection issue. I'v congigured it the same as my other mailers, but it's telling me the remote has no such AKA. I know it's something stupid I missed, but I have no idea. Sorry for all the stupid questions, but I'm really dumb when it comes to mailers. Thanks in advance for all your help. I've sent the same message to my hub by email, but no response as of yet, so I'm trying to get it resolved before I have to go back to work tomorrow.

the problem is here in this line... FTN domains are only 8 characters long... i
just polled carol's system and i do not see her argus presenting that address like that but that might be because of my alias-for lines in my configuration... in your binkd config file, there should be some "domain alias-for" lines...

    domain fido alias-for fidonet
    domain fido.net alias-for fidonet
    domain fidonet.org alias-for fidonet
    domain fidonet.net alias-for fidonet

the purpose of these alias-for lines is to override erroneous entries that others put in their configurations... the above four fix the majority of fidonet misconfigurations... if you are in any othernets, you might also have/need some for them...

I have them too in my binkd.conf. I think these are from the default configuration file, that comes with binkd. But that explains why I didn't see this either in my log...

it may be that a little more work on the config file needs to be done... there used to be a section in db where you could put custom settings for the binkd side but i've not looked in a long while and have a laptop point system that needs to be updated badly...

I'm on Robs system, as I don't get this echo on my system, and I don't want to add anything till I get this mailer fixed. I don't know why Robs system would be double spacing everything, but for once, I'm glad It's not my system at fault, as I have enough going on right now lol. Thanks for the help my friend.
