• Hey Stas, @BroRabbit, I sent a couple of test tguid@2:460/58

From August Abolins@2:460/58 to Stas Mishchenkov on Fri Dec 18 16:16:12 2020

Hey Stas, @BroRabbit, I sent a couple of test tguid@2:460/58 netmails to myself a few days ago, but they haven't showed up - yet.

They still haven't come? Perhaps they haven't reached my node until now.

Nope. Still nothing. And, I had crashed them to your 460/58 system. The last incoming netmail in the Fido2telebot that I see that that arrived here is Nov 17 from Charles.

But the last one I sent to your system is this one on DEC 15:

Normal names will never work unless they are unique. Today only user_id is unique. The name can be the same for different users or change for the same one at his will.

    Have nice nights.

As Stas mentioned, that would never work. And rightly so -
because any Telegram user can change their name or alias.

Stas's (fido) bbs or the tosser/scanner, wouldn't know to whom
a message should be directed to if he only had a name to go
on. However, Telegram assigns a user id number for every
registered account. Stas simply leverages that to produce the
    TGUID in the kludges.

Then, the fido user only has to address their netmail to
TGUID@z:n/f.p and it will reach the Telegram user that matches
    the TGUID.

BUT, Stas has mentioned that he would allow Telegram users to
send messages intended for netmail to people directly by using
the following on the first line in a message to the
    Fido2telebot:

    --to:FN LN z:n/f.p--<CR>

    Huh? I haven't changed anything with the Fido2telebot. :(

But, I just noticed that the setting for the bot was "Bot
blocked". I swear that I did not purposely do that.

Anyway, I did a /start on it and it seems that it should be
    operational now.

Interesting. It's actually pretty cool to have control over
that and block incoming "netmail" that way.

Well, you said you received a netmail from me on the 17th. Unless it Pulled
the TGUID, you shouldn't have received it.

That was on NOV 17. My original message said "November 17"
was the last successful arrival of your netmail to my Telegram
    account.

We were testing the netmail<->telegram "live" timing when you
still had a Telegram account at that time.

My last "test" to myself was DEC 15, and that did not succeed.

Anyway, it's all working now. It appears that the Fido2telebot
was disabled on my side, somehow.
