• C128D HD Emulation

    Hi All,

I know there are SD2IEC adapters, Pi1541's etc.
But are there any peices of hardware that can emulate a hard drive on a 128D?

Any of them that work on the C64 work on the C128. The only difference would be speed related burst mode support. The C128 can support a burst mode. If you have jiffydos and the HD item supports jiffydos then that would work well too.

There is a way to CMDHD emulation and uSD cards on SD2IEC devices with burstmode and jiffydos support I believe.

It is possible to emulate a 1541 disk drive with the 1541-Ultimate for example.

You might find it useful to switch the internal drive off. If you don't want to solder a switch, you can also use this tool: https://csdb.dk/release/?id=160842

But if you want to emulate a 1571, I don't know of any solution that supports D71 disk drives and burst mode. Some people said it might be possible to add it to the firmware of the 1541-U (which is open source), but it hasn't been done yet.
