• Running external freq processor

From Fabio Bizzi@2:335/364.3 to All on Thu Jun 20 19:12:45 2019
    Hello, All.

Does anyone run an external SRIF freq processor with binkd in a linux environment?

At the moment I was succesful with VIreq from http://ftnapps.sourceforge.net/index.html but I had to patch the source code because otherwise the vireq pass the path and the filename all in lower case and obviously if there is an uppercase character in one or both of them binkd fail to send the file.

I've looked at tmafreq but the sources aren't available anymore. :(

Any hint, suggestion, clue, insult? :)

    Many thanks.

    Hello Fabio,

I have meant to setup a freq processor with binkd but haven't done it yet. I have a copy of mfreq-3.18.tgz that I have been meaning to look at that includes
source. It was writtem by Marcus Reschke.

Any hint, suggestion, clue, insult? :)

It's not available for freq.. ;) but if that interests you I could send it your
    way.

It's been running here for quite a few years. It does my Allfiles list for me as well. I love it. That file is FREQ-able from here as "mfreq".

    Cheers,

I found a copy of it, now to configure it to work with my system. Will need a quiet day to digest the docs. :)

If you need a nudge with something, give me a 'hoy'! I needed Markus' help more than once... well, it was a two-way thing as I helped him with early beta testing.

    Cheers,

Well, Markus has left Fido at the beginning of 2019.

If there are any further request of features, you'll might him reach via eMail.

    Cheers,
    Paul.

Yes, I saw the meltdown in your echo (IIRC). I really wanted to offer him a node number but discussions didn't even commence after my offer of a point address. He was a classy act WRT Fidonet software.

    Cheers,
