    Dear Wibs ~

I use the book, A Handbook of Dates, by C.R. Cheney, revised by Michael
Jones, revised edition published in 2000.

It includes regnal calendars, saints' days and festivals, dates for law terms
in courts (such as Hilary term 1283), the Roman calendar, and calendars for A.D. 400 to A.D. 2100.

In short it is an invaluable aid for any medieval researcher. I recommend it
    highly.

You can purchase a copy on www.addall.com for as little as $26.00 U.S.

Or for as little as nil you can use the very handy online medieval calendar based on this book, created by Peter Binkley, available at https://www.wallandbinkley.com/mcc/.

    Hi guys,

Is there any online calendar, converter or other resource, that can quickly
and simply tell how to convert dates in the format:

The Saturday after the Conversion of St Paul, 1381.

I know the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul is the 25th January, but I
don't know what day of the week this in 1381, in order to arrive at the date the following Saturday.

    Thanks for any help,

I've used The Christian Year http://almanac.oremus.org/easter/

Or use http://people.albion.edu/imacinnes/calendar//Welcome.html, which gives ecclesiastical dates and regnal years and has a tool to calculate the day of the week.

    Assuming you mean 1380/81:

    cal 1381
    1381
    January February March
Su Mo Tu We Th Fr Sa Su Mo Tu We Th Fr Sa Su Mo Tu We Th Fr Sa
    1 2 3 4 5 1 2 1 2
    6 7 8 9 10 11 12 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

    20 21 22 23 24 25 26 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 17 18 19 20 21 22 23
    27 28 29 30 31 24 25 26 27 28 24 25 26 27 28 29 30

    etc.

The cal command is an old Unix command. As such Macs might have it and
maybe the contradictorily named Windows subsystem for Linux available
for W10 may well include it.

    However, for casual use
http://www.tutorialspoint.com/unix_terminal_online.php might be the best option. I just tried it and it works.

Note that cal assumes the year begins on Jan 1st (hence the proviso
about 1380/81) and by default is for "England and her colonies". The
current alternative version ncal has options for different calendars and countries and Western and Orthodox Easter dates, e.g.

    ncal -e 1381
    14/04/81
