    I recently sent an email asking if anyone knew of anyone that has figured out a
    way to get Fidonet (FTN) into a forum software such as phpBB or SMF (MySQL >data
    handling)? I###d like to continue with my BBS, but it seems telnet BBSs are >going the way of the dinosaur.

    Have you thought about a BBS package like Synchronet? It would not give you the threading experience like phpBB does, but it does have a web-based BBS built in.
