From Robert Wolfe@1:261/20 to All on Mon Jan 15 10:22:58 2018
    Hi all!

Just tried to post a message or two my my Leafnode server VM and am getting the
following messages with my BBBS/2 installation:

{0}[c:\bbbs] bbbs bnntp r news.os2bbs.org Trying to connect to NNTP server news.os2bbs.org. Connected to server.
    Reading group alt.test.
    180115 10:21 Posting of message 906 to alt.test failed: 441 Post rejected,
formatting error: Message-ID: header does not have domain name
    part.
    Reading group comp.os.os2.
    180115 10:21 Posting of message 117 to comp.os.os2 failed: 441 Post rejected,
formatting error: Message-ID: header does not have domain name
    part.

Is there a config option that I need to check here or is something else amiss?

It seems that BBBS exchanges echomail using 4D addresses. This is right for our
Fido World. But when this echomail arrives to an Internet service it lacks a 5D
    part (the domain part).

I'm observing a similar behaviour in my Jamnntpd gateway when I check it with Mozilla Thunderbird: as the echomail's From header doesn't observe a 5D address
(ex. 2:343/107@beholderbbs.org) I can't see correctly in the message list panel.

It could also be the reason for your error.

    At this point, I can't find any option through bcfg4 where I could set up a 5D fake-address... :-/

    A reveure!!

This is not FTN style echomail. This is NNTP posting from BBBS BNNTP to my NNTP server. The area is question is set up as a newsgroup only as per the BBBS documentation, so wondering why I am getting this message when I have set up my newsgroups as per the BBBS documentation.

The message error rises from your News server.

As far I can see, you are trying to post an echomail message from BBBS to your News Server, and your News server doesn't accept your message due the lack of a
well-formatted-internet-address on your echomail message header.

Maybe you have to tweak "something" in your News server in order to accept bad-formatted-internet-addresses. You can verify if some kind of lower security
    can permit this.

Or maybe Kim could helps us and he could add this kind of configuration on BBBS
in order to simulate internet addresses in our outgoing internet mail exchanges.

I use LeafNode on my news server and not sure exactly what to tweak, but will see what I can do to get things to working some other way (granted I would still rather use my own Leafnode box).
