• New 175 FO Tank

From Spankey@1:278/230 to All on Mon Sep 27 07:06:00 2004
I just installed an Oceanic 175 gallon Bow front. My question is...i
    have 2 filters, a Cascade 1500, and a Cascade 1200. Is there such a
    thing as too much filtration?

The general consensus as I understand it is that there is no such thing as too much filtration. It *is* possible to have water flow currents that are uncomfortable and too strong for your fish. The threshold depends a lot on the specific fish that you have in the aquarium. Some prefer calmer water, others prefer strong currents to swim and play in.

I've read that too much filtration while cycling the tank can be bad
(hard for the bacteria to establish?). I like having two filters so
that I can stagger when I change/clean them and keep the bacteria in the
    other one.
