    This newsgroup is also a great place for information, however.. be
    prepared to get 5 or 6 different answers for each question :)
    Everyone does things different ways and has different opinions, so I
    think you'd be best off following only one person's advice so you
    don't end up mixing your advice.
    The two things everyone seems to agree on are
    1) You must cycle your tank. There are different ways to do this.
    - fishless cycling
    -- using ammonia
    -- using fish food
    -- using bacterial colonies from an exsisting/healthy tank (handful
    of gravel, filter cartridge, etc)
    - cycling with 2-3 small inexpensive hardy fish

    2) You should have a hospital or quarantine tank for new fish/plants
