Greetings all!
I live in a part of Southern California, USA, where it gets pretty
darn warm during the summer months -- at least two days in the last
week the temps got up to 104.5 in the shade. Since I don't have air conditioning, you can imagine how warm my 20-gallon fish tank can get
-- it certainly is routinely higher than the maxiumum indication of 82
degrees on the tank thermometer during the summer. There is no way I
can move this tank into a cooler location unless I move it to the
basement. I do put ice in the tank when things get desperate.
Surprisingly, the fish I have had in this tank have not done badly --
I guess I have varieties that tolerate high temps.
Anyway, I got a new tank recently to replace my old one, and I will be
buying a bunch of new fish soon. Can anyone recommend types of
freshwater fish that are known for being particularly tolerate of high temperatures?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
Chuck
