I was on the phone with Joe Siegler this afternoon -- we're going to a football
game on Sunday --- and our esteemed moderator wandered into Joe's office. I told Joe to tell him to pay us a visit. :-)

    Hello Steve.

Replying to a msg dated 21 Aug 00 23:22, from you to All.

I am here, but I am also in the process of redoing the BBS.

    ALTHOUGH I HAVE NEWS!

The Rott Extreme Levels done by Joe S. and Tom H. are going to be
released as freeware. Although you need the registered version of ROTT
to play these are some really great levels!

I have the same problem here. Good to see you. Did you get my note about updating the echo? Long and short is that you'll need to let the Echolist Keeper at 1:1/21 know that it's kosher for me to update APOGEE for you, or I can show you how this is done and you can take it from there.

Joe mentioned this to me at the game yesterday, and as it turned out, he was waving around his 3D Realms business cards to impress the guys sitting with us.

Didn't get your netmail. That wouldn't be the first time I've gotten a report that netmail's not making it out of 124, as 124/5009 said he had routed something. Either mail is getting stuck on your systems, or something's amok at 124/1 (which would surprise me).

    I'm running FrontDoor/Fastecho/TAG.

He says he hasn't heard from you. <scratching head> I'll forward this to him.

I still carry around my Apogee card and tell the ROTT tale. I can make people laugh by doing the "Die!" voice. "That really IS you?" Of course...would I lie about that? :-)

That did indeed make it. ISTR watching Joe working on some of those levels, all those years ago.
