• As I Was On My Way.....

Last week I noticed the Licence Plate on a parked automobile that read "144MHZ".

I didn't see any signs of an Whip Antenna, but figured if the car was
owned by a Ham that they may be using a Hand Held Rig.

Seeing that License Plate Made My Day!

Last week I noticed the Licence Plate on a parked automobile that read "144MHZ".

I've seen bumper stickers with 146.52 on them. And on my car, I have a DX Engineering sticker. But I think the Comet antenna on my truck confirms I'm a Ham.

I usually carry a HT with me in my backpack. Mostly so I can play on breaks from work, but also as a backup..

That's pretty cool! Kind of an 'inside joke' without just spelling out your call. :-)

That's why I took my callsign plates off my car, I decided I did not want to advertise who I was...

If the owner is a Ham He better not be transmitting at the bottom of the
CW section of the 2 Meter Band.

Before my TR-9130 went Belly Up I made a CW QSO or Two with it, and used
    it for SSB too.

One time when I was driving through Tennessee I had a SSB QSO with that rig.

It was a nice XCVR but it started changing the Frequency I was Listening at
or Talking on to 144.000 Mc/s so I sent it away to be fixed.

I wish it could had been repaired, I told the Serviceman to keep it,
He said that He would put it in His JUNQUE Pile.
