Is anyone watching the Supreme Court Judge hearings or am I the only dope watching?

I have not but I suppose many are. I'll be seeing the highlights soon enough.

I don't understand how the stupid ass Dems won't vote for this woman
They're really carried away with this Rode vs Wade crap.

Because the democrats want to maintain some form of impartiality on the supreme court. The need for that goes beyond the Roe V. Wade thing although that one alone has the potential to set your country back 50 years.

They're looking for any kind of justification they can find to vote against her. Their idiot supporters are watching, and they want to see obstruction. In the end, it's just a partisan political choice, and for the Senate minority, they already know how they're voting despite how any silly questions get answered.

She is a smart lady, and she would be a good judge if she could be impartial. She wants to implement the United States of Catholicism, next we'll see sharia law. A packed court could throw out Roe v. Wade and the ACA. Currently there is nothing to replace either, and that's only the beginning.

They're fine in asking some questions but it's unfair for them to ask her
about her policy views; she's obviously a Republican, so hypothetically, the answers to their hypothetical questions should be inferred.

If they had any reason not to confirm her, it would be out in the open. The whole senate, on both sides, has turned it into a cultural phenomenon. Their role in the USSC is to either vote & confirm, or play around and waste time. Must be a fun job! It would be rare for a SC nominee to be rejected.

A Democratic senate vetoed one of GHW Bush's nominees because the guy was heterosexual and drank alcohol. Back then these Senate dems were anti-lots of stuff, but now that they defend criminals, they are ganging up on an
adorable lady and intuition tells us that this little blondie is pro-life and if you ask her expecting a different answer, you're playing the senate confirmation game well.

This is the same process as always, there is nothing different about it.

When the senate installs a justice to decide issues of law they want to know how that person interprets the laws they write.

The senate will not (I hope) install a justice that decides cases of law in a way that will be outside of what the senates laws set out to do in the first place.

There is a mountain of reason not to confirm Barrett. We don't even need to question her, we can see it in her writings/doings.

The court packing began when Mitch McConell wouldn't give Obama's pick (Garland) a hearing 8 months before an election.

But Trump's court packing is in accordance with current law, and if Trump didn't load it up now then he would be a disgrace to his voters. Only a scum like Biden would load it up later by increasing the quantity of justices. I don't think he really has the balls to do it though, he's just being encouraged by his care workers to act like a tough-guy. In reality, and Joe knows it, he would have hell to pay if he made an executive order to raise the # of justices. By not denouncing such a horrible, anti-Democratic idea, just to sound tough to bunch of idiots, Joe is thereby promoting the abuse of presidential power. People who appreciate that crap are some sick enablers.

That's not "Court Packing" and the Dems did that same thing for many years.
So complaining about what Trump is doing is hypocritical - which seems to

    1) Upcoming election litigation
    2) To kill Roe v. Wade
    To kill the ACA

No, he hasn't. Although in your delusional Leftie mind I can see why you think that.

    1) Upcoming election litigation is only being pushed by the Dems because they know that they are going to lose big time.
    2) The only way Roe vs. Wade will be killed is because it's not constutitional.
Of course, not having the court "packed" with leftie judges who think that the Constitutional doesn't exist may cause that to happen.
    3) The ACA is already dead and most people are happy about that. The "Affordable" Care Act was moronic and didn't make health care affordable to anyone. The people that it was supposed to help ended up paying premiums
on health plans with such high deductables that they could never take

Packing your court with justices who have said Roe v. Wade should be overturned is one way to overturn it. The poeple don't want Roe v. Wade overturned. This will be a problem.

    3) The ACA is already dead and most people are happy about that.

The ACA is still law and a large number of Americans depend on it. Without it a lot of people will not get the care they need.

The "Affordable" Care Act was moronic and didn't make health care affordable to anyone. The people that it was supposed to help ended up paying premiums on health plans with such high deductables that they could never take advantage of the health plan.

I agree. The ACA should be improved not killed. Wealthy Americans don't need the ACA. It is designed for the average working person/family.

Trump has not presented anything better although he has been saying for months that a new plan is weeks away. Two weeks before the election there is still no sign of it. He has still not released his taxes although he keeps saying he is going to do that and it would confirm or deny the story that he has paid only
$750 in 2016 and 2017 in federal income taxes and none at all in 10 out of the last 15 years.

This is what we have to look at two weeks before the election.

Canada has the equivalent of "medicare for all," right?

So what does your federal government do for illegal
immigrants when it comes to health care? Do you pay for that with your
    taxes?

I donate to charity whenever I can, but I'm not comfortable with it becoming mandatory to do so - especially when I have other people's medical bills that I'd rather be paying for. My dad needs a hearing aid, but nobody has $1000 for it. So, instead of buying my dad a hearing aid, I'll buy health care for illegal immigrants. If my kids need braces? Well, I'll have to take that into consideration after I pay for braces for some illegal kids first.

There just doesn't seem to be any kind of planning in the white house today

I don't agree with that statement. I see nothing but a stack of completed tasks. Maybe not the Green New Deal, or an apology to Iran, but those
are things we'll leave on the backburner for Democrats to play around with in 2024.

However, Joe Biden has indicated that he's in favor of Medicare for
all, so if we get Joe, then we KNOW what's in store; paying for the world's medical bills.

Wrong. Biden has made it very clear that he is not in favor of
single-payer type of system, but is in favor of personal choice.

Illegal immigrants would not get coverage. They would have to pay out of pocket for their medical expenses. If you were to visit Canada you would also have to pay your own medical bills either through insurance or out of pocket. I never travel to the US without insurance.

I donate to charity whenever I can, but I'm not comfortable with it becoming mandatory to do so - especially when I have other people's medical bills that

I guess it's a matter it a matter of prioreties. Those who are wealthy or those with insurance need not worry. What about those who are not wealthy or have insurance, do we just let that go?

The Trump white house has done some things, for sure. There are many things that need doing that he has simply ignored. Coronavirus is one that has been ignored for months now and it seems to be back in a big way just at election time. I don't know if you want a green new deal but some attention and thought should be paid to the science around global warming, at least.

Some states in the USA have issues with health care costs, and some states make it easy for their residents. My state makes it too easy; we're
already paying for illegal immigrant health care here. We're also paying their legal fees; it's like the taxpayers have been sued in court and lost.

Canada doesn't care if the illegal immigrant is rich or poor; they will still require payment. I don't think that's unreasonable. We should do the same thing here.

People who can't pay because they're poor or not coverered can do what I used to do during the Obama administration: use motrin and bandaids for everything.

Your Democrat bias is showing again, your words - Biden has been a lot more transparent with his plans than Trump. We know that we cannot

It is my bias for truth and facts that is showing.

Don't take my word for it, just look at the facts.

Name me another President Democrat or Republican.

Who else had the courage to stop foreign countries (namely China) to continuously rip off the United States of America, with respect to
    Trade.

I do not know all the facts on China, it is complex.

Who else fixed the tax code so that WE as Americans keep to keep
more of our hard earned money.

Not that much more. He fixed the tax code so that his billionaire
buddies got to keep a *LOT* more of their earnings.

Name me another President where the stock market has soared breaking
its own record multiple times within 4 year term.

The stock market rose at a higher average rate under Obama than under
Trump. Obama inherited a crash because of Bush policies that drove the
stock market down to about 6600. When he turned over the Presidency to
Trump it had risen steadily to 19800, an increase by a factor of 2.99
over a period of about 95 months, which equates to 1.16% per month
compounded monthly. Last stock market price is 29,999 -- an increase by a factor of 1.51 over a period of just under 48 months, which equates to
0.8% per month compounded monthly. In other words Trump inherited a
strong market and did not get it to increase at the same rate as it had
done under Obama. All of this discussion ignores the fact that only the
more affluent part of the population has any stake in the stock market.

Can you recall a previous President of the U.S. that has done all of
the above and has not collected a salary.

It is true that Trump says he has donated his salary. It is also true
that previous statements of his donations to charity have been false.
It is also true that he has earned far more than his salary by his
charges to the federal government for using his various private
facilities. It is also true that his donations for "help overturn the
election fund" have put more than 100 million into funds that he can use
for what ever he pleases. I.e. giving up $400,000 yearly salary pales
in comparison to the money he has raked in via other means based on his
    office.

Your response to should prove to be interesting.

And Biden probably realizes this too. After all, he is a career politician.

The voters who swung from Republican to Democrat this year are going to need at least 1 great reason to re-elect Biden again in four years. There's gonna be a humongous crowd in DC on The Mall that day. I will like that composition...

If you think illegals flooded the country during the Hussein/Biden days, you're in for a whole lot of `you ain't seen nothin' yet'!

On the bright side, illegals from central America are likely to mostly stick to the hispanic states, like Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, California.

By the time they wander up north, hopefully they will figure out that murder isn't something you give $10 bucks to the cops for in order to avoid jail. But unfortunately for our southern states, that's a lesson that won't be learned quickly enough.

Harris is not just the very worst possible person to be vice president of this country, she is the absolute pits for a first woman president. And don think that isn't in the cards. It is.

The Republicans need to nominate 100% pure blacks for president and vice president. That's something that the Democrats haven't done yet. I know that's not the way we do business, we're not a skin-colored operation, but more of a skills-colored operation. But we need to blacken up before the crats do.

escalate. Lockdowns will become common. So will a flood of illegal aliens taking jobs from Americans.

I could care less about illegals taking our jobs. I just want them to feel like their lives will be over if they murder someone. But it's extremely difficult to make them feel that way because of where they came from.

If Biden gets in the White House, dark days are coming. Stock pile non- perishable food and plenty of ammo.

Next time I talk to any Republican lawmaker, I'm going to stress the importance of affordable arms. Every American citizen should have access to quality firearms & ammo. It's as important as any other lifesaving medicine.

It is true that Trump says he has donated his salary. It is also true

    Notice something......

Shipp states "It is true that Trump *says* he has donated his salary."

I know, that was my point exactly. He's learning to mislead like a pro.

There's gonna be a humongous crowd in DC on The Mall that
day. Photos are going to be made from the top of the
Washington monument and published in a composition with the
Obama inauguration on the left with lots of people
attending, the Trump inauguration in the middle showing The
Mall 75% empty and the Biden/Harris inauguration right with
The Mall again filled to capacity.

Actually, the word is that the Biden/Harris inauguration will be mostly virtual, with only a much smaller in-person attendence.
