For writing DVD's on most computer DVDRW drives, use DVD+R.
I've had no problems on PC's, laptops, and Apple computers with
DVD+R discs. However, for some reason DVD-R discs don't seem to
play nice on various kinds of drives.
I think DVD-R(W) disks were manufactured first and the
DVD+R(W) disks came out later.
I was wondering if one type of disk (MINUS or PLUS) is the
better one to use for one certain kind of recording over
the other type disk?
I have both types but was wondering which type DVD You
prefer to use?

Long ago I read about the superiority of DVD-R. Can't recall
why.
Don't much worry about which I use.
