    Howdy! Paul,

I was wondering if the Name Tegan was actually a Name someone in
    Australia(sp?) would Name their Child.

Originally I was going to ask You, but then I thought to Search for
that Name on Duck Duck Go, and learned that the writer did know of
    someone there with that Name.

Are there many Women or Girls with the Name "Tegan" around where
    You live? Thanks.

This is a first! Someone asking for my advice on girl's names! I appreciate the thought, Ed but you should know that you can rely on me being the proverbial _ex-spurt_ in such a field of study. :)

I do indeed recognize "Tegan" as a possible Aussie name, although I don't recall ever having come into contact with any girl or lady using that moniker.
I don't think it's a traditional name, as we share a similar first name collection as you Yanks do. It may just be a millennium name, perhaps derived from a TV or movie actress's name from around the turn of the century.

Interestingly, the Wikipedia states that it's a name of Welsh origin. It is surprising to see that of the eight famous people sporting that name, four are Australian. Kewl.

    Cheers,
    Paul.

Well, how about that! I am currently watching a network news segment originating from Brisbane (the state capital about 200 miles south of here), and who should pop-up with a story was a reporter named Tegan!

That's another one for the chalk-board tally, Ed. :)

    Cheers,
    Paul.

    Paul, hello.

You did notice that I was +/- absent on your site, sorry.

I have been some busy as a W-10 Insider and other things in life, specifically,
my spouse who is quite affected by this dreaded Alzheimer.

I wish in parting to thank all here who suffered my typing along all these years of fine fun and learning. I could not just disappear without saying goodbye, there are too many to mention all by name.

    Godspeed to all. Jean.

I have an OCD problem, besides my medical shortcomings.

Ah, a real life! Where can I download one of those? ;-)

You are a lucky man with a fine missus, Jean. The plot line for a movie "50 First Dates" comes to mind, and represents a positive wish on my behalf. BTW, there have been wonderful outcomes with sufferers of that old folks ailment, when treated with familiar music & singing.

The pleasure is all mine. Thank you for being a good mate, mate.

    Godspeed to all. Jean.

    Bon voyage, mon ami!

    Cheers,
    Paul.

Hopefully M$ will accept Your suggestions on WINTEN, what I read at www.askwoody.com doesn't make me want to buy a newer computer with a

Oh no, that is really sad reading, but you know what they say about
radio amateurs, "They always come back".

I think (hope) that you'll also come back.

Until then, I'll always remember you.

Yes it was automatically installed on the laptop, but to get it to the stationary 10pro machine, I had to manually check for the updates.

According to info I have it should be automatically installed on a Pro
machine, unless it's connected to a metered system.

I have in vain tried to find the setting for metered connection in the stationary machine, but nil. On the laptop I have stumbled over it, and apparently set it to NO (metered).

As you may remember, I lost my spouse in 2012. What has kept me sane,
are the Fidonet and amateur radio hobbies, and the daily outdoor 1 hour+ exercises.

There's no question that I don't miss her, but I have not let it take
    over my mind..
