From Richard Webb@1:116/901 to all on Sun Aug 29 18:48:16 2010
    Hello all!

Back in my extremely busy board days I used to have a little thing iirc called killrcat, might have the name wrong.

Basically a message nuker for squish bases, i.e. kill
filter. tHink only flavor was dos flavor, but there might
have been an os/2 specific as well.

Anybody still using it, or did it create y2k problems?

IF so, anybody got it for freq pots access contiental U.S.
    by chance?

    Regards,
    Richard

I've not heard of that program myself but I have TWITKILL for DOS and OS/2 which is the same thing.

TWTKL105.ZIP and yes, it should be, but I've not had anyone do a crash FREQ in years. Give it a shot and try. :)

I've got a copy here killrcat.zip (39 K), but let me warn you... I've got one of those ZyXel modems which aren't known for their compatibility. I tried sending it to you yesterday, but I couldn't get Bink to dial out. It has just been too long since I used POTS.

There are 2 executables in the .zip file. One for DOS and the other for OS/2.
It also has the C source code if you want to "roll your own". This utility works on a Squish message base.

Janis also has it. You might be better off getting it from her,

Know that feeling. YOu wouldn't have got a connect until
the small hours probably anyway, non-cm.
HIt your system and your zyx and my USR communicated
    alright. Thanks!!!

THat little guy's easy to set up, takes about 2 minutes.

<hmmm> sHould've shot one in the blind at her. THanks
    though, worked!!!

Ahhhh that explains it. When I first set up for dual IP/Pots operation I did some nodelist magic to prevent the pots side from dialing out when the other node also had IP (both sides share the same outbound). I thought maybe that was getting in the way, but it was too close to bedtime to dig into it.

Glad it worked out. You know, I think that was the first successful POTS connect I've had since I re-joined Fido in July of '03. I'll bet most of the failed calls were from telemarketers.

YEah, SEan sent me a cd of a bunch of things from Gary's
site, but I think just before our move when stepdaughter's
boyfriend ripped me off for some tools etc. he went through
and grabbed some cd-r disks, thought they were music I
guess. THat's one of them I haven't found since the move to current location.
Iirc that wasn't on it though, had a list of stuff from SEan's cd here. A lot of it was labeled with
    "no description" I noted.
That was one of my projects, grabbing a bunch of that stuff, unzip it, get a description from a file_id.diz if it had
one, and clean that up a bit, but that round tuit never
    arrived here.
