    Revert "Fix new (MSVC) warnings"

    This reverts commit 5b99a0a99c443a025b4c14bceb090d6e1fccbb43.

    Apparently this causes issues with recognition of the QWK newline char
    (pi symbol, EX-ASCII 227) in QWK messages.
