  • Trying to externally link to a specific message area on the web page

    So, today my brain wanted to do more BBS related stuff, so I poked around the javascript for the web server. I was looking for a way to link to a specific sub-board in a message area. I thought that if I could somehow pass the sub-forum code (ex: "dove-syncjs") into 022-forum.ssjs that I could call the loadThreads() function from printBoards() so that all the threads for that sub-board would be visible immediately after loading. I couldn't get it working so I thought maybe it's best to run it by the experts. First off, can this be done, and second - how?

    Ignore this. I'm going to write my own forum loading routines that will provide some kind of external link capability. I don't know how long it will take since I have other projects I am working on, but when I'm done I'll share it here.

    Ignore this. I'm going to write my own forum loading routines that will provide some kind of external link capability. I don't know how long it will take since I have other projects I am working on, but when I'm done I'll share it here.

    I could probably add this in, but to be honest at this point I'm reluctant to bolt any new features on to ecweb 3. The new web UI already has this feature (direct link to area, board, thread, or message).

    I'll be bringing the new web UI over to the Synchronet CVS very soon, and may provide an installer to make it easier for people to make the switch. I'd highly recommend waiting for this rather than spending much (if any) time on ecweb 3.

    Not presently, thanks. All of the planned features are in place. The to-do list exists in my head and involves a bunch of interrelated tasks.
