• Slyedit ctrl-k not working

I just moved my BBS from a Linux system (hosted on Google) back to a PC at my home. Everything seems to be working EXCEPT pressing CTRL-K to get colors in SlyEdit. Can someone please give me some idea where I have to look to resolve this. As a note, the internal editor works with pressing CTRL-A.

    Thanks!!!

So the only thing that changed was that you moved your BBS to a different computer? Or was there anything else that changed?

In order to change colors in SlyEdit, you'd have to have the allowColorSelection setting set to true in SlyEdit.cfg, and the cursor would have to not be on a quote line.

It would be good to check your SlyEdit.cfg and see what the allowColorSelection setting is set to. If you have a SlyEdit.cfg in your sbbs/mods directory, it would be using that one; otherwise it would use the SlyEdit.cfg in sbbs/ctrl (or if neither of those are available, it will check for a SlyEdit.cfg in the same directory as SlyEdit.js).

So, the solution was a mixed bag. It was the missing allowColorSelection=true but also I had to copy over the entire EXEC folder. It appears to be working now. Thank you!

That shouldn't be missing. It's included in the SlyEdit.cfg that is currently in the Git repo in sbbs/ctrl. Also its default setting is true, so if it wasn't in your .cfg file, it should have been enabled by default.

but also I had to copy over the entire EXEC
    folder.

Aside from the SlyEdit*.js files in the exec directory, I'm not sure what else there would be required in order for color selection to work. If any of the required SlyEdit*.js files were missing, I'd have expected SlyEdit to abort running in the first place. Unless you had some older copies in your sbbs/mods directory perhaps..?

It appears to be working now. Thank you!

    Good to hear it's working.

That is why I was confused - I never modified the SlyEdit.cfg file. And I am betting you are correct that I may have had some older files or missing files. At one point it failed to launch, which brought me to copying the EXEC folder over.

    Thanks again!
