    Hello, mark.

i'll keep looking, too because a good file comparison tool is a must
for many programming situations... especially if you have large
(greater than 64K) files to compare :)

I found I have one already. Using Dink's Neatutils, there is a nice little FC program called FC.EXE. He's also got a version for Win32 too. I'll have to try it out...forgot I had all of those utilities hidden in my system path. <G>

excellent! i've done the same thing and, on the os/2 box, went so far as to create a utility and utilityp directory where i placed my commonly use tools based on the OS they were written for... then the DOS path statement got utility added to it and the os/2 path statement got utilityp added to it... now, if i have tools of the same name but for each OS flavor, it doesn't matter
which command shell i open... the name always pulls up the proper tool... the real problem is getting the command options right for the individual tool flavors...

i remember a time when i had something like FC for DOS and OS/2 but one used /b
for one option and the other used /b for something else... it always took me a minute or so to realize i was trying to get them crossed up
