• ANSI screens "jerking"

From Sean Dennis@1:18/200 to All on Thu May 19 21:08:49 2005
    Hello, All.

I'm setting up ProBoard here (under DOS). I'm having a problem with the ANSI screens that will partially draw, then "jerk" as they draw the complete file, unless I hit Enter and then they will fully redraw. Do any of you have this problem?

    Later,
    Sean

    Hi Sean,

I had that problem a long time ago when running ansi.sys in pure
dos and later in win 95 . It didn't do it all the time but way
more often then what I liked.

I switched to nansi.sys as my driver in Win95 and the jerking
cleared up, and now in Warp 4, with nansi.sys being loaded in the
dos properties, have never seen the jerking again.

    I'm not ProBoard, but I don't think it's app specific, more a
system thing. Then again, what I experienced and my fix may not have
anything to do with your experience. :)

    Cheers...

I'll have to get that from you-be on the lookout for an email from me. I think
    it's the ANSI.SYS driver too.

It's a system thing, I believe. I've had a few problems before with doors doing strange stuff.

is this jerking on the local console, on the remote or on both?? i've seen where my local console may jerk and hesitate but the remote is smooth... i can only attribute this to some sort of buffering somewhere... evidently in the transmit side of my setup...
