    6. Please let the moderator do his job.

So it's OK here but not somewhere else?

"somewhere else" has its own rules... now please take this off topic chatter somewhere else...

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ... for 4 months nothing appears here, then one message and it is declared off-topic.

You blistering idiot (1st Ammendment, you remember?), there isn't even a topic ... so how could anything be off-topic?

Tears running down my cheeck ... a true pharce ... ;-)

there were no readers, wilfred... there was no echo of this name or echotag being carried after the previous moderator passed away... the echo dried up and
blew away with no traffic... most system's purged it from their configs for lack of traffic... it remained in my configs, though... eventually i realized what had happened and took steps to revive the echo... it does get at least one
post a month... thanks to you, ward and a couple of other folks, it now has several posts for this month...

it would be nice, though, if the discussion was FTN developers and technicians talking about developing or working with existing FTN protocols ;)

I was not anywhere near a D'Bridge system on July 27th. That day around that time I was asleep in the Big Bear Motel in Cody Zyoming and receiving the phone
call that my dad had passed away.

This message originally was posted on Jan.20 2014 ... so what happened here?

Some system reposted this and changed the date. Where have I seen this before?

maybe... it could easily be another one recovering from a crash and starting with restored configs and echo areas... then the operator just didn't think to stop the mailer, let the tosser scan for outbound mail and then delete that mail before starting the mailer back up... this used to be taught to all sysops
when they were starting... it all but disappeared when that "BBS-in-a-box" mess
came out back in the 90s and anyone could throw up a BBS without any training or assistance...

the necessary mindset and skillz are being lost :(

agreed... unless they were rebuilding by restoring from a QWK offline mail feed
of the areas... many BBS QWK doors changed the date of the messages when they are uploaded into the BBS by users... i can easily see someone having archived messages in QWK format and then restoring them via the same manner...
