    Greetings All!

    I have mystic running on rpi.. I upgraded to bullseye tonight and noticed I was getting python error logging into bbs so I started to investigate. It appeared somehow python 2.7 was not installed suddenly. I followed instructions on mysticbbs wiki and I am not faced with the following error after this part of the directions

    sudo ./configure -enable-optimizations -enable-unicode=ucs4 -enable-shared

    checking for ensurepip... no
    configure: creating ./config.status
    config.status: creating Makefile.pre
    mv: cannot remove 'Makefile.pre': No such file or directory
    config.status: error: could not create Makefile.pre

    Any thoughts?

    This is an error with the package or Debian or something, its not Mystic related. I don't really know the answer to this one, but have you tried to install Python2 with the package manager? "sudo apt install python" or something along those lines?

    I don't know if the latest versions will have it compiled correctly but it may end up being the easiest way.

    Yeah thats what I ended up doing was using the package manager. It did install python2 and I still got the error from sentry mod on mystic, so I just had to remove that menu from mystic I guess.. I am not a fan of python seems to create too many problems for me... :-)
