From Joe Schweier@1:342/200 to All on Fri May 29 10:19:30 2020
I have been playing with Mystic... Setting up the Pi version. I'm having a slight issue....

BTW, I do not have PKT PW setup...

I have 2 fidonet address, Hub & Node...

Hub setup is FD2/FE2/IREX2... it polls and tosses mail fine...

Node address is on Mystic, it received mail from my HUB address just fine...

    BUT!!!!!.....

If I reconfigure Mystic to be the HUB, use address 200 instead of 201... and I poll for mail from my uplink the mail won't toss into the BBS... Log file claims that there is a packet password error. There is no packet passwords to have an error..

    Anyway...

    Thanx
    Jowe

Right before that in the logs it should show you its importing a PKT file along with the origin and destination address. You should double check the destination address' configuration in your Echomail nodes to see what the PKT password is set to.

Not sure if FE is one of them, but I believe some tossers use a single password and it applies to everything including PKT files so your hub could have a PKT password set that you're unaware of if that is the case.

You can also e-mail me one of the PKTs to mysticbbs@gmail.com and I can tell you if it has a password and test with it. If you choose to do that let me know so I know to check the e-mail.

I'll give it an other shot again soon... I'll netmail Nick to see if there is any passwords, just in case, so I can rule that out...

There are some things I can do to double and tripple check...

Thanx for the offer about looking at the packet, I'll keep you posted

    Hello Joe,

Hub setup is FD2/FE2/IREX2... it polls and tosses mail fine...

It's been a long time since I ran FD. One thing I remember from those EMSI days is that FD would put your session password in sent packets as packet passwords. It needs to do that for EMSI for some reason so if you are using EMSI you might need to set the session and packet password the same so packets shift between nodes without strange error like that.

I have spent a little time at this, like a dog chewing on a bone. :) Session level password is not an issue, since either InterNET Rex or Mystic picks up the mail fine. The problem is that when I go to toss the mail

The BBS toss it just fine if I route to it from my hub address, that's where Fastecho is tossing the mail.... BUT it will not toss the mail if I poll directly from my uplink... after changing the address to reflect what's
    needed.

The log says packet password issue... There shouldn't be any because there isn't any packet passord configured...

So, I have netmailed my uplink... and the Author.

    Thank for your suggestion though...
