• Rep upload crashing.

From Shawn Highfield@1:229/452 to All on Fri Jul 20 17:46:00 2007
    Hello,

One of my users just informed me that whenever he tries to upload
a REP packet the BBS kicks him off. Sure enough the log file states
    that!

If he's using mTel, that'll happen more often than not. Ask if he is using mTel. I've had that problem a lot with mTel users on my system.

    Later,

So your saying Mtel causes this crash!? Wow.

    Are you using OS/2 ?

In my experience this problem effects any uploads to OS/2 with mTel.

I reproduced the same problem on several Maximus/2 boards.

REP uploads to non-OS/2 BBS's work fine eg. The Dog House BBS (Maximus) and Vertrauen (Synchronet).

Bob Jones and I scrutinised logs etc over a year ago and couldn't resolve the problem.

Those seem like exception violation errors.

    They look like memory related.

Maybe something to with Windows protected mode and Maximus.

    <shrug>.

Who needs QWK anyway. Unless you want DoveNet ...

Wild! Basically as you've seen in another message I think I have a work around for the users.
Will keep everyone informed even though I realize it's not a big panic anymore,
I'd like to come up with a work around for the people who still want to use QWK
packets. (I sure like using NNTP, but that's me. :)
