Hello All,

Many years ago I used a program I can't remember the name of that allowed me to move files, import file_id.diz, adopt files, delete files etc. I can't remember if it was OS/2 or DOS based, but it was a text mode application.

Can anyone recomend something similer that works on today's hardware?

I use MFM (Maximus File Manager) -- it's old but it still works. DOS, of course. :-)

You may be thinkng of MAXFILE, a text based file system manager that comes as an OS/2 version, but I don't know if there is a DOS version. I think there may be a PM version as well.

I found mfm_119v.zip on the internet and it appears to have the pascal source code. If that's the latest version I'm all set, if not my email is s<mylastname without brackets>@gmail.com ;)

Yup - that's the latest one! Good luck with it - it works well for me, and I still use it under Windows XP!

Yup - that's the latest one! Good luck with it - it works well for
me, and I still use it under Windows XP!

So far so good! I did have to tppatch it, but everything is good now. I've almost got it ported to VPC/FPC now, once I get that I'll add a feature to import file_id.diz and it will be perfect.
