The two PBS stations I get on cable have been running old episodes on Sunday nights. I wonder if they're stilling using old tapes from the '70s. A few are almost completely faded out. Has anybody else had this problem? Or are my two PBS stations run by cheap utter filthy swine? Or is it perhaps some sort of conspiracy?

Our PBS station has been running old episodes occasionally. They weren't DVD quality but I don't remember them being as bad as you described.

Our reception here sometimes isn't very good, either. It does look like they're
running faded old tapes, which is a shame. I live in a college town, and I'm trying to make young converts to the cause. I first remember seeing MP on PBS as a kid in the 70s, and the picture and sound quality were better, as I recall.
