I have Mbse 1.0.4 installed in a linux LXC container running Debian 8 and didn't run into any problems. I'm only using it as a mail
hub though, but my user account got created ok.

Thank you Stephen, so at least I have a configuration problem, but I repeated the installation several times without lucky.
    Will try again

    Thanks

The key is after you run SETUP.sh as root, you need to go to a new TTY (CTRL-ALT F2 from your desktop session) then login as the mbse user. It will fail every time if you miss this step. you MUST configure and build it as the mbse user then use su command to get root access to make install

do NOT use sudo and do NOT clear the environment with su -

    Hi Dave,
I had sort out but in a VPS you connect -ONLY- in ssh you don't have any Desktop :-) BTW now it works the only thing is a long work to populate the areas.

    Thanks

Oh yes.. I know lol.. and one gripe I have so far .. when uploading files if the file_id.diz has pipe codes in it it seems to skip the file and asks for description.. real pain when you're uploading stuff for renegade/telegard bbs lol using pipe color codes in diz was popular in those days..

Did you log out and then log in as the MBSE user and finish up the installation there first?

    Hi Robert,
thank you the problem was already fixed by myself, but at least I skipped the process to install mbse after several hours of works and not work. So I preferred to switch in something more easy and overall probably is my faulty, but after reading the whole doc 3 times and made the same process and doesn't work I was quite frustrated :-)

    Thanks

There is a slight issue with the instructions on facebook. I got it compiled by following a post "Night Stalker" send me in another network and those work.
I /think/ I posted them here if not I can. Not a huge difference from the ones you posted but it worked for me this time (As you can see from this message)
