just copy lordtxt.dat over to that lordansi.dat file and you should be okay.

I wish I had known that before completely reinstalling the game. :(

i had this problem and talked to him about it a while back.
dont know if i'm recalling this correctly, but i think there was some release that got out in the wild that was missing it,and this was corrected.

anyways, lordansi.dat is supposed to be a replacement for lordtxt.dat, i think.

anyways, i copied over lordtxt.dat and it worked for me [i have a custom one, anyways]

    sorry! ;[

oh, another thing i do is make a batchfile that zips all the .dat files and renames it with the date. i've never had any lord related data losses, but i've had igms nuke my 3rdparty.dat and user file. ;[

I use LORDANSI.ZIP as the file...but discovered another glitch last
night. I was in the Dark Cloak Tavern, and I forget what command I
chose, but an error message was displayed, and I got booted out of the
door! I went back in, and all seemed OK, but I didn't really mess with
the Dark Cloak Tavern stuff any more...at least not at this time.

Same here. Would you mind posting that batchfile here for other

well, it's really a sloppy afair.

i use settime to put the date into the environment.

    http://eob=bbs.com/settime.zip

then the batchfile would go like this with pkzip console (subsitute your archiver)

    @echo off

    call settime.bat
    pkzipc -add -dir=full %date%_backup.zip 3rdparty.dat lord.dat

    ---end--

then you can add whatever files you want.
i just put that in the maint.bat file, so it runs each day

I saw a post from Lloyd in this echo awhile back, and even sent him

As for other Lord II New Worlds, if anyone ever wrote igms for them, I neve found them, or knew about them.

They use to all be on the web site that Bobby Queen use to run. I
    downloaded
bunches of them when I first got my Lord 2 game registered. I have about 20 or so IGM's installed in my game at the moment. I never installed any of
    the
new worlds set of IGM's as I had quite a few already installed that was included in them. The new worlds were just a compilation of IGM's that
    were
fixed to not have overlapping screens. Some of the IGM's players created sometimes used the same screen and 2 IGM's couldn't use the same screen without patching the screen for both to exist. I patched a couple myself and even sent Bobby the patch to be placed on his web site.

I have most (99%) of the lord ][ igm as well as a few other worlds
    lord ][ igms : ftp://time.synchro.net/bbs.stuff/LORD2I/00index.html?$f10ywfsr lord ][ other worlds (and the igms) : ftp://time.synchro.net/bbs.stuff/LORD2OS/00index.html?$f10ywfsr
