If we are lucky, maybe we will learn answers some day as to
why the LORD games have been left unattended for all these
months. In the meantime, we are all forced to just live
with the glitches and LORD crashes. Donald.

I think the better way is when the author has a small trusted cadre of beta testers, who understand the responsibilities of a beta test cycle!

As an author myself, it's also nice to have beta testers that actually test the

program and report back problems. I've had people offer to beta test for me and never heard back from them!

yeah, for them, 'beta tester' means 'i get to have it before everybody else', and only that.

there's a lot of guys like that.

me, i just want it to work.:D i dont want bad things to happen.

so if i dont have time to babysit something, i wont betatest it

The main thing I look for is bug reports. That's all I want is people
to put it to the test and do things that I may have not thought of. But
it's such an apathetic scene these days that when a sysop does cry to
me about things not working, I tell them thanks for being an involuntary
    beta tester. <G>

Those aren't real beta testers -- they're just users who want to try something new! :P

I've beta tested before & I took my responsibilities seriously. . . I put the program through the works, and reported back regularly with details. . .

As best as I can remember, no one gave a hoot about writing IGMs for LORD II's new world programs with the exception of Amber Crystal. And one can't even get
support for any LORD II program now that I know of, other than maybe the ones by Lloyd Hannesson. I don't really understand why it was that interest in Lord
II programming just ceased to exist once Joel Gathercole quit doing Complete New World work, and it became clear that Max Larivee had either vanished or died. Either way, LORD II seems to be like the dinosaurs - dead and extinct. Sad situation that one.

As for other Lord II New Worlds, if anyone ever wrote igms for them, I never found them, or knew about them. There was Darkness Falls, Final Nightmare, Amber Crystal, Sword of Fate, Beyond Imagination, DarkLord, Exile to Another World, Miniature Lord2, Classic Miniature Lord2, and Dune Lord, TEOS Lord, The
    Quest for Mom.

Interesting how so many people started to do those New Worlds, and then they just all disappeared over time. The situation with Wildcat and Worldgroup versions of Tournament Lord has turned out to be as bad, what with only Joseph Watson being around now to support wt-lord igms. Donald

well, as i understand it lord2 was NOT new world. infact, i have the unfinished lord2 new world on this very bbs.

lord2 was a big failure, even though some people enjoy it.

i have a lot of lord2igms, but none of them are as good as the ones for l.o.r.d. they're just goofy scripts.

died. Either way, LORD II seems to be like the dinosaurs - dead and extinct Sad situation that one.

well, the bbs scene is progressively getting worse every year, and that is relative to everthing that encompasses that.

just all disappeared over time. The situation with Wildcat and Worldgroup versions of Tournament Lord has turned out to be as bad, what with only Jose Watson being around now to support wt-lord igms. Donald

bbsing is dead, and these people have moved on.

As for other Lord II New Worlds, if anyone ever wrote igms for them, I neve found them, or knew about them.

They use to all be on the web site that Bobby Queen use to run. I downloaded bunches of them when I first got my Lord 2 game registered. I have about 20 or so IGM's installed in my game at the moment. I never installed any of the new worlds set of IGM's as I had quite a few already installed that was included in them. The new worlds were just a compilation of IGM's that were fixed to not have overlapping screens. Some of the IGM's players created sometimes used the same screen and 2 IGM's couldn't use the same screen without patching the screen for both to exist. I patched a couple myself and even sent Bobby the patch to be placed on his web site.
