• LORD2 FISHING

From Daryl Stout@1:382/33 to ALL on Sat Jan 7 05:40:00 2006
I just put LORD2 on my BBS, and extend thanks to George Pope for
recommending it, and for his help. However, I'd like to add more
"fishing" to the game instead of its current limit. But, I'm not sure
which value to change it at.

if you need any lord2 igms, I have them, on my ftp server ( ftp://time.synchro.net/bbs.stuff/LORD2OS/00index.html )

They'd have to be registerable or freeware...otherwise, I'm not
interested. But, I'm wanting to know how to increase the number of
fishing trips per day...to give players more gold.

I'm still new to LORD2...one of my users emailed me a help file on it,
but I'm still going through it.

Not sure if you are referring to adding more fish or adding fishing
IGMS. If you want to add more fish in the pond then that can be done by changing the gametxt.ref. Find a similiar line in the ref that has the
word fish (I think I changed my values so the line below may have
    different values):

    @do `t10 random 30 20 ;<-- Amount of fish in stream today

The first number after random is the maximum number generated and the
second number listed after random is the amount added to the random
    number generated.

Yeah, this is the value I've been looking for. The IGMs I grabbed for
LORD2 were the FieldSoft ones, or that were freeware. Thank you for the
    help.

Too much fishing just takes away the better game play encouragement to go out and FIGHT/KILL!!!

(especially Dark Forest when you're just starting out in the game, or after a reset!) :)

(Do the abortion quest first, to get $2,000 which will pay for top armour in Greentree Armory & second weapon in the Greentree Weapons Shop, which will kill everything in Dark Forest except Ghosts and Dark Trees, even at level 1 or 2!

Me, too -- I was playing the pre-release beta! :) Had to learn all the goodies myself (did, too!) (followed the hints in the on-screen help ("?" from a map screen) to find all the quests. . .

I picked up the L2NFAQ10.TXT file some time later and give it to newbies to help them get started and get past the basic Stoney Village & Greentree areas... :)

    I now have L2NFAQ11.TXT

I just passed them around to help newbies be willing to give it a fair go & get big enough to be worth slaughtering every 3 days (cuz they auto-resurrected in mother's house, and my smackrod used to give me access to the bed! *EG*)

    I didn't either

I'd offer them assistance, in the way of weapons, armour, cash,

after I got good, and have some to spare I would help them out (by gold)

I didn't do that far, unless they took the first blow, then I would go
    after them
