• Hello, and sorry.

I'm sure you've all witnessed my troubles with duping messages that were inteded to go to AgoraNet, but went to FidoNet instead. I'm sorry.

The problem is, i'm testing out the "Squish" mail tosser for DOS ("Squish" is the name of it), and i'm not too familiar with it. I'm more familiar with HPT or some other tossers. Does anyone use Squish? If so, would you mind looking
at a few configuration files? I'd be most thankful. I think i've made
progress with getting IMP-MAIL working. What I did, was create two BOARDS.DAT files. One lowercase and one uppercase. So, the board itself sees the
lowercase file, while the tosser sees the uppercase one. And it appears to be working. No more corrupted BOARD.DAT file. :) Btw, this is all part of my effort in porting Impulse BBS to Linux. This step (getting FTN working) would eventually happen regardless. Anyway, yeah, that's my situation. Thanks for your time.

I haven't used squish in many years but I'm sure I could still navigate a squish.cfg.

If you have questions you can feel free to post them or netmail them to me along with your squish.cfg is you'd like me to have a look.

There is also the TUB echo. It's not that busy these days but there may still be some squish users in there.

I've been looking at your config and I see that the fido and agoranet areas are in different directories so I think that is good

I think you need to add "-p46:1/124" to your agoranet areas since they use a different address than the default, I don't think you need that for the fido areas but you do for your othernets.

Your AGN_GEN area would look like this..

    EchoArea AGN_GEN c:\home\imp\imp\msgs\agora\agn_gen\ -f -p46:1/124 46:1/100

Try that and see if it makes a difference, and let me know if that is successfull or if we need more work.

Ok. It works fine. But, I discovered something. IMP-MAIL doesn't care which tosser you use. Squish is just the default, that's set in the IMP-MAIL.CFG file. See, IMP-MAIL simply converts the MSG-styled packets into a propietary format (*.BRD and *.MIX files) and writes them to disk. I am able to successfully use another tosser, HPT in this case, and it works fine. The
only problem I am having, is garbled message headers. I suspect the code is at fault. I recently discovered that Impulse borrowed A LOT of code from Telegard. I guess, as a lot of BBS softwares have. Impulse doesn't seem able to put the Subject, To and From in the right places. And in some cases, not even the message base that's being posted to. Since it (at default) uses Squish, I
tried using the "Squish" format, to see if that would solve this problem, but no luck. I have to use the MSG format. :(

    Anyway, just a head's up.

    Thanks,
