    All,

Was was able to create an LXC (Linux Container) with a Debian v3 ('woody') install, which I think is old enough to be able to run IREX 'properly'. (Interestly enough, the current install for it only takes 147 Megs of file space...<g>) I have IREX installed but need to get it's configuration updated,
determine what I'll use with it (I originally used the husky utilities) and then see how well it works...

As long as it's using a 2.4 kernel, IREX should work on it.

Say... question, you using the Linux version? (I may install Linux one day)

I am using the OS/2 version on my system to support FTP downlinks. I have never tried the Linux version. My Linux system uses MBSE; I've never thought about putting IREX on it.

Well, that's one thing I'm not sure of; was it the kernel or the libraries? Or both? If it's really the kernel, or both the kernel & glib, then I'll need to move it into a full VM.

I will note that with the current setup; although rexcfgl does run without issue, I've seen problems with rexl... ('Course, that could just be that it's been so long since I last tried setting it up...<g>)

Likely because an all-in-one thing like IREX isn't really needed that much on Linux; certainly that's one reason why I haven't been in a big hurry to try to get it running again. Since I do have a registered version and I think it'd be interesting to have it running again, I do come back to it when I have
time. If nothing else, I figure it'd be a useful thing to have running if only to serve as an example of the FTN services that can be provided...

Do you recall if it _requires_ it? (If now; does anyone?) I ask because the VM I created installed a v2.2 kernel by default. Several versions of the 2.4 kernel are available (I downloaded one of the v3.0r6 DVD ISOs from [1], and used that both for the installation and left it available to the VM for apt-get
to use), though, so I could get that installed...

And I wonder if I should go ahead and do that. IRex is working better in the VM than it did in the LXC but there are still issues.
