Both Andrea and Hector have said to me, right over the phone, that PXW
is done. It will never be upgraded and never again supported by them.
This does not sound good to me, but again, it is more along the way Winserver is going, Not too much in the Fidonet or msg network way.
Mostly focusing on email stuff only. Including mailing lists etc. So one never knows, but I don't think there is any plans beyond the PXW package unless someone else writes it for network type messaging.

the telnet and binkp protocols built into PX/Wins. But, the way Hector
is, I doubt we will see that happening anytime in the near or distant
future.
Have you noticed that the PXW conferences have recently disapeared at Santronics?
When I asked Andrea about it she said she would have to ask tech
support (Hector?) what happened, I have yet to hear back an answer, I
was actively helping someone in the conference get it setup when this happened so there is activity for new users of PXW.

sounded as if it was a 3rd party problem, like it wasn't their baby and whoever
was working on PXW is now not there or something like that. She just
said it
was done and would not be supported by them on the bbs or over the
phone.
Although it was a rough ride trying to get the version 2 and do all
that needed
to be done to bring it up to speed and to version 3. It was a
nightmare. I
is nice, but if it is not going to be supported, my question is, who or what is
going to take the place of it? I never got a clear answer on that, just
a quick
snap of a reply. I still think they are getting away from networking
type stuff
in winserver. Just my hunch. I have always wondered why there has not
been any
real support in like Fidonet. It is hurting the product, but is also
the fact
that hobbyist sysops on fidonet is not their target market. I dunno..

They probably think that BBSing is dead and that there is no more of a ->hobbyist need for their product anymore so they effectively dropped the ->product line. Which is really sad, IMO, since I think PXWins could
end up being as good a product as WINS is. Again, just my opinion.

"Whoever was working on PXW?" I thought Hector wrote that as well? It ->would be totally awesome if the person who WAS working on it would leak
out the source code or something for it ;)

I would have to agree with you on this point.
