When I visit a Synchronet bbs with Firefox/32bit, things seem to look normal:

    https://susepaste.org/47038086

But when I use Firefox/64bit, the navigation buttons are something else:

    https://susepaste.org/32392315

Is there a setting in FF/64bit that can rectify this?

These buttons are displayed using font-family: 'Glyphicons Halflings'
    in the CSS.
This font is included via the bootstrap.css and is loaded from the BBS directly (from the /css/bootstrap/fonts/ directory).

    I don't know why a 64bit build won't display this font correctly.
Do you have any extensions which maybe disable the loading of fonts?

You can also try https://box.imzadi.de and check if my BBS is being
    displayed correctly...

    Regards,
    Anna

are your FF installs for the same OS?

are your FF installs the same version of FF?

are they installed on the same machine? (possible conflict between them?)

are you talking about that yellow box that says "right click or pull down to show history"?

where is your mouse pointer in the one that has that box?

are you logged in with a valid account in both instances?

Is there a setting in FF/64bit that can rectify this?

    unlikely...

FWIW: that page looks fine from here in both normal and dark modes on both of my FF v66.0.3 (64-bit) and FF v96.0 (64-bit) browsers without being logged in to that system... i don't have a 32bit one to test with...

FWIW2: using the "Web Developer Tools" in my v96.0, i see on the "Console" tab a note that reads

"This page uses the non standard property 'zoom'. Consider using calc() in the relevant property values, or using 'transform' along with 'transform-origin: 0 0'."

after a few minutes, there is apparently a page refresh, i guess, because three more messages appeared... one speaks of a "syncMessage" error at line 256, column 19 of SyncMessage.js... the other two messages are:

"Content Security Policy: Couldn't process unknown directive 'script-src-elem'

"Content Security Policy: Couldn't process unknown directive 'script-src-attr'

after another few minutes have passed while i typed the above out, another message appeared but that might have been due to my clicking other tabs in the web tools area looking to see what else i might find... this new error reads:

"Source map error: Error: request failed with status 404
    Resource URL: https://www.endofthelinebbs.com/js/jquery.min.js
Source Map URL: jquery.min.map [Learn More]"

i followed the "Learn More" link and was able to understand some of it but the ec4web developer(s) will know much better what the problems are... especially since the app(?) is still a WIP AIUI...

oh damn! i didn't even notice that in your pictures... i blame lack of c0ffee and just waking up... that and the lack of some sort of red circle or other indicator pointing to the actual problem in the picture...

they worked just fine here on both of my 64bit FFs after i told noscript to let scripts from that site run...

No. I only use Badger, UBlockOrigin, NoScript on occassion
    where required.

You can also try https://box.imzadi.de and check if my BBS is being displayed correctly...

They render properly on YOUR system. Thx!

So, it seems, the other Synchronet sysops might like to make
the same adjustment as you did.

    Yes.

are your FF installs the same version of FF?

Not necessarily. That should not matter.

are they installed on the same machine? (possible conflict between them?)

    Yes, same machine.

are you talking about that yellow box that says "right click or pull down to show history"?

    No.

where is your mouse pointer in the one that has that box?

The pointer may have been resting on something above offscreen
in that cropped image. That is unrrelated.

are you logged in with a valid account in both instances?

I am ust visiting the sites (in my example, EndOfTheLineBBS) as
a first time user. Logging in makes no difference.

Perhaps Anna is on the right track for the solution.

My system is basically the 3.19b version of Synchronet and webv4, I've
only changed some CSS via a custom.css file and adapted the fTelnet integration to my needs.
