Something more robust than the original case eh?

Yeah, just something to do. More of "playing around" than something practical.

    Hello Jason,

JV> So, what projects are you working on?

None really, unless you count a simple audio amp kit that I soldered together but have yet to case. I need to find a suitable speaker for it. It's a 2.5W RMS amp, so I think a 5W paper oval should suffice.

I have an SSB/CW RX kit from TenTec, but I want to work my way up to building that because it's years since I did much soldering. I have a small broadcast band AM receiver kit that is next on my list. After that I'm thinking of investing in a Ramsay receiver kit (which looks more simple than the TenTec).

I am not very good at soldering. The only project I have going on is cleaning out the shack and putting up an inverted V for HF.

Who the heck sells kits these days?
I'm an old paint by numbers Heathkit guy ( Ann Arbor Mich Co.)
