What is the general Christian view towards marijuana? And if you dont
mind me asking, what is your personal view as a christian towards
    marijuana?

IMO, it depends on the reason for using it. If it is to have a good
time, then who needs it? (But I see no reason for it being illegal, not
unless we are going to illegalize alcohol too. Marijuana is less
    harmful.)

If one is using it as a prescribed drug for pain or other ailments, go
for it. I am not sure I would say it is a sin to use it for pleasure,
    but I would tend to.

    Here's a bit of human reasoning ...

If marijuana cannot be used for medicinal purposes, then why should cocaine be used in the form of codeine? Or heroin in the form of morphine? Or alcohol in the
form of cough syrup for that matter? It appears to me that the difference is in
purity and delivery: to smoke marijuana from the street is to 1) not have control
over the dosage and 2) to introduce toxins via the harsh smoke that is many times
worse for lungs than commercial cigarettes. Thus, using a common joint for medicinal purposes seems to me to violate the medical principles of doing no harm
and of precision delivery for a measurable objective.

I think you'll have a hard time finding much more than Biblical precepts to answer this question.
