Hello, everyone!
With my job stabilized and my hours now pretty much set in stone, I'd love to try to get my General class license. My parents now live out in the middle of nowhere in Nevada, but my dad wants to get his license and put up a small tower for 10m.
Myself, I'm wondering what's the best way to learn code? I've heard pros and cons about all of the methods. I notice there's some old-timers in here (no insult ment-I mean for experience)... what did you do to learn it? I'm very serious about learning it; I also want to get my General Radiotelephone license too (gotta be like my gran'pa :), so knowing the code is going to be something not only outside of ham. I work at WSIU-FM in Carbondale, Illinois, as a volunteer, but I'd also like to be the only other person there, besides the station engineer, to get the general radiotelephone license too. ;)
Any and all comments are welcome. I'm also reachable at
hausmaus@mystica.cx.
73 DE KD5COL (and still proud to call myself a ham, even if I am sans equipment right now),
