Seems to have been fixed by using the source package from the official internet file distribution system.
this is exactly why gert should NOT be hatching development code... he
has been requested several times to not do this but apparently he
doesn't understand plain english...

This is exactly where I was going with my comments as well.
When development code ends up on third party sites (including the filegate) it can be altered from it's original state.
Something even as stupid as zipping up the sources and not including any/all subdirectories can screw things up pretty bad.

I also asked him about that but without any result. Later I simply put him in
'read only' mode for file echos. I think it would be good if Janis will do the
same.
