• Is there any use in aquiring a USRobotics 56k modem in todays age? I

    I have heard it rumored before that from some providers, dial-up is a complimentary service, IE. No Charge! would this be worth playing around with? And , if so, Where would you recommend I poke around on the net to find interesting things, ie software repos, discussions et. Thanks,

    There are several Dial-up BBSes, including mine (Diamond Mine Online) still out there.

    My BBS is using VOIP, so it's not 100% reliable, but it works pretty good considering.

    I've used Verizon FIOS as well to dial out, and it's also pretty good. It's a high grade of VOIP.
