  • Wich terminal emulator is better?

    Do you guys use a specific terminal?
    I use Syncterm since im new to BBSs. Do you guys want to recommend me some others emulaotrs if you want? Which one do you guys use or find better?

    I've always been partial to SyncTerm, I've been involved in BBS'ing since the early 90s. I actually can't remember what I used before SyncTerm.

    syncterm is good, there is other ones like magiterm and netrunner that could also be considered.

    I love NetRunner, personally. It reminds me a lot of the terminal I used to use when I was really into BBS'ing in the late 1980s and early 1990s -- Telix! SyncTerm is a great terminal, too, and has that nice MS-DOS ProComm feel. ;)

    Oh my goodness I had completely forgotten about Telix. I’ll have to look up NetRunner now :)

    Yes! Telix was such a great application. To me, NetRunner encapsulates a lot of that feeling in the UI and rendered UX. Would love to hear what you think about it!

    Personally I am so lazy that I use whatever terminal emulator comes with the version of Linux I am currently using.

    That's why I am a Ubuntu fan, I am terminally lazy.

    I personally use ZOC Terminal under windows/mac, but there's nothing better than minicom if you're using linux for serial comms.

    As for *NIX telnet, I usually just use the cli anyway :D
