I had some context in mind, but I failed to include it for fear of someone biting me.

    I don't bite unless asked.

    Hi Charles!

10 Nov 20 10:20, you wrote to me:

Now that I have stitched up my disassebled T60 from about a
monthe ago (to replace the fan and re-apply thermal grease for
the CPU/heatsink) ..and have my favourite working environment
    back again, I might.

So you got it fixed successfully? Congratulations.

    "successfully", depends.

I have 2 screws left over which I am very sure are supposed to bolt down the keyboard and palm rest, but they seem to be too short and don't "bite" anything so that I can screw them down. I'm very sure I have the keyboard/palmrest resting down as far as they can go.

So, I have to be gentle if the lid is latched. Otherwise the lid will pull and lift the palmrest.

The machine runs really cool now. I used to be able feel very hot air being blown out. Now it is barely warm.

You can buy screw sets on eBay for each model Thinkpad; they even
include the little adhesive covers over some of them.

The T4x were nice, they had a legend on the bottom identifying the
screw types with a picture and each hole was labeled with which screw
    went where.

I've got a T60 running the BBS now, and I did a similar fan
replacement/cleaning/replace thermal grease, and a 13-year old laptop
    is running fine. (knocks wood)
