When you add a file area with filefix, does it not send all the files from
that area? Is there a way to (re)send them?

    %resend *.* <filearea> doesn't do anything.

I suspect filefix doesn't respond to *.*, but I am not certain of that.

You might have to give filefix a filename instead of a wildcard.

    %HELP is your friend :)

Filefix doesnt respond to *.* - you need to name the file you want from the file area.

    %HELP pretty much says I can't do this =)

Other than dialup my HUB ( you =p ) how do I get a list of files?

There's no options like rescanning with areafix =(

    Right, %HELP says this:

    %resend <file>
    <filearea> recieved file from filearea

Where "file" is a named file, not *.*

Other than dialup my HUB ( you =p ) how do I get a list of files?

Actually, I dont produce a list, what are you after and I can send it out to you.

I think other systems post a file list in the File Announcements echo (?), and whatever is in there hatched out on FSX can be re-obtained with a "%resend <file> <filearea>" command to filefix.

There is, but yes, its "different". Its not "send me everything", its "send me this"...

After? Nothing... =) I just want to watch filefix/nodepoll/mutil do stuff.

I did log on to the Agency and tried to resend a file in FSX_UTLS to me but
it said file not found. i.e. saw file in FSX_UTLS on Agency BBS, sent filefix netmail [from my BBS] to resend, response was file not found.

Cool, I'll check that out. I'm just experimenting with all the echo/netmail/mutil/etc. functionality. It's fun. |02_\|/_|07

This is an area fsxNet is lacking... I'm really talking about file area management in general and it's on me for not being proactive at hatching or rehatching stuff in recent months.

Now that 1/100 is on HPT/HTICK stuff I'm wondering if anyone in the echo with the scripting chops would be able to write a wee script for me to help
automate regular hatching of files from assorted fsxNet bases out to the rest of the network.

What's I'm pondering is something that is aware of the list of files in a
given filebase directory, can choose one (probably at random. or in sequence down a list) and generate the necessary Htick commands to hatch the file out again with the 'replace' verb included.

That way I could start to run a nightly script to start rehatching stuff out each day and nodes that are newer could get the files other older nodes
    already have.

Oh and I'm being lazy by not doing it myself manually... which I will need to get on an do for some files I have sitting here to send out.
