Man, I think I'll always PLAY with the new betas... but I'm thinking that I'll stay behind on the a48 alphas. Knowing me, that may change - but... I'm thinking maybe I'll just have a SISTER BBS where I can play with the new features...

But I guess now isn't the time to worry about that - UPGRADE DAYS A COMIN.

Yeah I just hatched that pack out in the last 24 hours to the art file base. Nice to see A47 if finally out too. Al BBS videos are always an enjoyable watch :)

My upgrade went OK... however I had a MIS Daemon that failed to shutdown so the initial ./install replace failed at the mis binary. A quick killall and reboot made everything buttery smooth.

In addition, whether yer coming from a46 OR from previous alpha builds of a47, BE SURE TO go thru the upgrade.txt and complete all.

Theres a new gallery.ans/ini, I had missed a couple ./mutil suggested runs (PackMessageBase, PackFileBase) AND there was an unneeded .dat file to be deleted..

During the alphas I had bost missed one or two things, and there was one new one (gallery.ans/ini) in the FINAL.

I really like the new .ans/ini setup for ANSI gallery, ANSI viewer and File/Message templates - they are really customizable and offer the ability to FULLY control and change how these sections of the software look and act.

One thing that I still can't figure out, however, is the automatic font switching in like.. the ANSI viewer. I've set my font to CP437 in the theme, but my gallery/ANSI viewer still won't switch to TOPAZ when viewing ANSIs. (Tested on the iMPURE 80 pack.)

At any rate, I think a47 is a damn solid upgrade from a46. I've never had a BBS software that allows this much customization - in ways that I like. (Renegade <3.)

Seriously though, I think A47 is sufficiently different to void some of the existing Mystic tutorials (hasn't fidopoll been deprecated in A47?).

I hope I don't come across as entitled in any way, but your original series

Thanks for the feedback, yep they are now rather dated, especially the info about fidopoll (as you mention). I had been waiting for James/g00r00 to push A47 out to the world first, but now that's happened I do plan to work on some updated videos in the coming months.

Nothing in your post comes across as 'entitled' and I appreciate the kind feedback.
