Did you figure this out already or did anybody provide a zip of their working directory?
I have BUCK-AM.ZIP in my 'new files' area (#1) on my BBS at another.tel -
I zipped up the existing Buccaneer directory from my BBS. I am starting
the door by calling START.BAT <node #> the node # is just used with a program to set the user's status on my BBS (Buccaneer doesn't need the
node #). Buccaneer itself is running with 'buck210 /n'.
I included a DORINFO1.DEF file in BUCK-AM.ZIP, this is the dropfile
created by my BBS, usually it is in C:\BBS\MAX\ (this is where BUCK.CFG points). I have the Buccaneer files in D:\BBS\BUCK\.

That's a copy of an existing game running on my BBS - complete with active players and my sunken ship. :)
So strange that this game is giving you so much trouble! I haven't been able to recreate that error on my system either (DOSBox-X).

If your system didn't work with akacastor's working setup, that makes me think it is something with your setup. What OS are you trying to run it under? I have it working here in a linux 3.x VM running dosemu.

I've given up. I really wanted to play this game myself, it sounded
