Jeez, it's taht time again it's stupid question time from me.. I am
just installing BRE for the first time on my system and it runs
great, but I can't seem to get it to detect ANSI it always asks me
to accept ANSI. IS there a flag I need to set in setup or
something? I can't find any info anywhere...
I remember that from my BRE days years ago but I don't remember if I managed to get it to stop asking. BRE creates it's own drop file based on the drop file created by the BBS so I'd have a look at that drop file and see what it looks like. You might get different results also by reading a different drop file. Some doors work best with door.sys and others with dorinfo1.def or something else.
I'm doing the same right now with Operation Overkill ][, it creates

I am using door.sys on my DOS BBS. There is a program that comes with BRE, SRDOOR, that runs before BRE in the door batch file which reads the door.sys and creates a setup file which BRE then reads.
Do you have BRE configured to read your drop file type, and do you have SRDOOR set to run before BRE in the BAT file?

Using door.sys and have SRDOOR run before bre does in the bat file, not sure what is holding it up, it's not really a big deal just being anal about it.. LOL the game runs.. Just weird.. Thanks for the tips...

Hmmm, only thing I can figure is that maybe Mystic (assume that is what you are trying to run it with) either is not passing the ANSI value, or
is passing a value that SRDOOR does not recognize. Are you using the latest BRE v0.988 (I think!)?
From setting up and running BRE many times over the years, it's the dropfile.
I've got DOOR.SYS running BRE on DoorParty. If I remember right, using DORINFOx.DEF was the one that caused it to ask for ANSI or not.

I'm using DOOR.SYS also, but I will give DORINFOx.DEF a shot also who knows.. Maybe one of them will work.. LOL Thanks for the help...
