• FrontDoor 2.26 SW keygen

From AKAcastor@21:1/162 to All on Tue Apr 30 14:49:46 2024
I didn't find a keygen for FrontDoor 2.26 shareware, so I wrote one. I've only tested it with the DOS version, but it should work with the OS/2 version also.

FD226-KG.ZIP is available in file area 4 (cracks) on Another Millennium BBS (another.tel).

For multiline use, I believe FrontDoor ML is required (a different version from the shareware version), which uses a different registration system involving key files - I haven't looked into this system yet. But I am curious if anyone is running FrontDoor and what version is in use. I see 2.33 ML available in the downloads area of defsol.com, I assume that's the latest and greatest so I may take a run at a keygen for that version also.

The FD226-KG keygen will generate a program key and authorization code to register the shareware version of FrontDoor 2.26.

Enter the key in FDSETUP: File -> License information

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    usage: FD226-KG "Sysop Name"

NOTE - don't forget the quotes around the sysop name!

It looks like I was (am?) confused! I downloaded and installed FrontDoor 2.33 mL and it appears to use the same license key format as FrontDoor 2.26 SW - I don't see any key file nonsense. AND - the keygen for FrontDoor 2.26 SW appears to be compatible with FrontDoor 2.33 mL.

If anybody is running FrontDoor 2.33 mL I would love some feedback on the keygen. (it works here, but hasn't been tested by anybody else yet.)

I appreciate the effort, appreciate that you're putting it out there, but nobody runs FD anymore. Your talents hopefully will move on to something else, may I suggest porting the Turbo Power B-tree ISAM library so it works properly on Freepascal so I can then try porting D'Bridge to Linux?

A friend came up with this phrase and as soon as I read it in the chat I knew it had to be my new motto. It's fun looking at this older software now, especially since the goal has become preservation and not just saving a $15 registration fee. :)

I haven't contacted JoHo yet (I do plan to, but am hoping to confirm the keygen is perfect before I present it), I did read on defsol.com the offer to send him an email to receive a key but I think he hasn't been able to provide keys lately.

On his Facebook group, JoHo mentioned a couple months ago that he "still [hasn't] restored the license generator. If you can find a pirate key generator, feel free to use it." It sounds like the software was lost in a hard disk crash.

Someone on reddit asked me about FrontDoor 2.33 and they said they had emailed JoHo and not gotten a response. (I assume due to the lost software)

    Howdy,

If anybody is running FrontDoor 2.33 mL I would love some feedback on the keygen. (it works here, but hasn't been tested by anybody else yet.)

I have FD here, that I've been playing around with, and I know Spec uses it to collect mail from me. I'm sure he'll be interested in this, as he didnt have a license for his FD. (I got mine a couple of years ago.)

There was somebody else playing with FD as well, cant recall who - but they may pop up.

    Like your work...

    (tangential story)

The Fido hub I picked up mail from in the 90s ran FrontDoor 2.02 NC, he used it for years, I remember the specific version because it was a free version that supported multinode operation and he didn't like the licensing of the newer versions.

That sysop (Warren Kreick, 1:140/62) and his BBS had quite a lasting impact on me. (not because of the FrontDoor licensing, that's just a random story that has stuck with me all these years)

    Like your work...

    Thanks, the feeling's mutual!
