Two of these files are so huge that I only hatched them out to three people today..

I will get them out to the other HUBs in the next few days or maybe tonight.

The DOS file wasn't so big (4Meg), but the other two are 15Meg and 23Meg.

Thanks for sending them over Gert.

    Take care,
    Janis

I got them here at Deep space with no problem, already hatched the win32 version out to a couple people.

Good :) I sent them out to all the HUBs early last night and then later in the evening.

Having seen these anounced in allfix-file etc, most of them look old eg, rehatched files going back years!

Please ask the sender not to do this.

    Another two points:
I am noticing a lot of files coming through without the tag to delete old version of the same program/package, please ask all to start reusing this feature as it keeps the volume of the file base under some level of control.

File Descriptions: Do not need the name of the file nor tons of junk characters
eg, pretty ? boxes etc. While these may work on some BBS systems they screw up on others including mine and as my bbs does not have a file description editor there is little I can do about it.

    Thanks for reading,

    Vince

No, I don't think so.. I'll check on PKWare's site, but you many notice that Gert said PKWare sent him the latest versions. This is a different product than what was previously released as well, I believe.

Please ask the sender not to do this.

Yes, of course we don't want "old" versions re-packaged.. :)

Sure, makes sense. I know I sometimes forget to hatch with replace. :(

I agree totally here. It's a real mess when descriptions come in here that are
over 750 chars.. BBBS can't deal with those and it causes the file areas to get messed up, skipping file descriptions sometimes. I'm not sure what other bbs description limitations are, but they may be even smaller that BBBS's.

AIUI, file_id.diz has a spec for line width and number of lines... the descriptions shouldn't be too far out of that... it is like 40 or 45 characters
wide and some 10 or so lines long... anything more than that is "out of spec" and should be CHOMPED anyway... IMPO, of course ;)
